Cartap Hydrochloride 4% GR is a granular systemic insecticide used primarily in paddy (rice) cultivation to control chewing and boring pests. [1, 2]
Key Specifications & Action
  • Active Ingredient: Cartap Hydrochloride 4% in a Granule (GR) formulation. [1]
  • Mode of Action: Systemic, contact, and stomach poison action that disrupts the nervous system of insects, stopping feeding and causing paralysis. [1, 2, 3]
  • Target Pests: Effective against stem borers, leaf folders, and whorl maggots across all development stages (egg, larva, and adult). [1, 2]
  • Dosage: Typically 7.5 to 10 kg per acre (or 10 to 15 kg per hectare) applied via uniform broadcasting or soil incorporation in moist/irrigated fields. [1, 2], \Safety & Handling Precautions Aquatic Toxicity: Cartap hydrochloride is toxic to fish and aquatic life; do not use it in rice-fish farming systems or let field water drain directly into fish ponds.
