Common Uses in Agriculture
- Tea Plantations: Applied as a directed spray between crop rows to clear heavy weed growth without touching the tea plants.
- Pre-Sowing Land Preparation: Used to completely clear fields of weeds before planting new crops.
- Non-Crop Areas: Clears unwanted vegetation along farm borders, bunds, irrigation channels, and farm pathways. [1, 2, 3]
- Systemic Action: Absorbed through green foliage and translocated down to the roots and underground rhizomes.
- Enzyme Inhibition: Stops the EPSPS enzyme, which prevents the plant from producing essential amino acids needed for survival.
- No Soil Residue: Breaks down naturally in the soil, meaning it does not harm the germination of subsequent crops. [1, 2, 3, 4]
- Recommended Dose: 1,200 grams per acre, or about 100 to 120 grams per 15-litre spray pump.
- Application Method: Use as a directed foliar spray on active, green weed foliage; avoid any contact with crop leaves or green stems.
- Best Conditions: Spray during calm morning or evening hours when weeds are actively growing (ideal at the 4 to 8 leaf stage) and rain is not expected
